SEND & Inclusion at Our School

At our school, we are committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive. We believe that all children—regardless of their needs—deserve high‑quality education, strong relationships, and the opportunity to succeed.

Our Inclusive Approach

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. We celebrate each child’s individuality and ensure that learning is accessible, engaging, and meaningful for everyone. Our teachers adapt lessons, resources, and environments so that every pupil can participate fully and confidently.

Nurturing Environment

We are proud of our caring, supportive ethos. Staff work attentively to build positive, trusting relationships with children, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. Our nurture‑informed approach supports emotional wellbeing, resilience, and self-esteem.

On‑Site SENCo

We are fortunate to have an on‑site Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) who leads our SEND provision and supports staff, children, and families. The SENCo works closely with teachers to ensure high‑quality, inclusive practice and is readily available to meet with parents, offer guidance, and discuss next steps for children who may require additional support.

Parent Partnerships

We recognise that parents and carers are children’s first and most important educators. We value your insight and work closely with families to ensure support is consistent, thoughtful, and effective. Together, we review progress, celebrate successes, and plan next steps that meet each child’s needs.

Open-Door Policy

Communication matters to us. Our open-door approach encourages parents to reach out whenever they need advice, support, or reassurance. Regular conversations help us respond quickly, collaboratively, and with care.

APDR: Assess, Plan, Do, Review

We use the APDR cycle to shape high‑quality SEND support:

  • Assess – Understanding each child’s strengths and barriers to learning

  • Plan – Creating tailored strategies and support

  • Do – Putting support in place within the classroom or through additional interventions

  • Review – Evaluating progress and refining support

This continuous, reflective approach ensures children receive personalised and effective provision.

Working with External Professionals

We work closely with a range of external professionals who help us support children’s needs effectively. This may include:

  • Educational Psychologists

  • Speech and Language Therapists

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Specialist teachers

  • Health and social care teams

These collaborative partnerships ensure each child benefits from expert, well‑rounded support.
