"Learning for Life"

British Values
At Wheelwright Lane, we promote the Fundamental British Values through everyday routines and interactions.
•Democracy: Children share ideas and make simple choices together.
•Rule of Law: We follow clear rules that keep everyone safe.
•Individual Liberty: Children make choices and try new things with confidence.
•Mutual Respect: We are kind, polite, and listen to others.
•Tolerance: We learn about different cultures, beliefs, and celebrations.
Developing every child, fostering a love of learning, belonging and flourishing in everything they do.

Our Aims
Our aims are to provide high‑quality Early Years education and care that enables every child to learn, develop, and thrive in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. We are committed to delivering a curriculum that prioritises communication and language, fosters curiosity, and builds strong foundations of knowledge and skills needed for the best possible start to school life.
A key part of our unique offer is ensuring that children leave Nursery: school‑ready, increasingly independent, and confidently demonstrating our core Learning Behaviours—being brave, collaborative, curious, determined and resilient.
Our aims reflect the expectations of the EYFS statutory framework, ensuring children’s learning and development are supported, they are kept healthy and safe, and they transition from the Early Years equipped with the skills they need for the next stage of education.
We work in close partnership with families, recognising parents and carers as essential partners in each child’s learning journey. Our approach reflects established Early Years best practice: inclusive, child‑centred, and built on strong home‑school relationships.
Our Vision
Our vision is to be a nurturing, ambitious, and inclusive Early Years setting where every child flourishes and every family feels valued.
🌟 Children Flourish
We aim to create an environment where children feel safe, confident, and eager to explore. Our curriculum is rich in language, meaningful interactions, and daily opportunities for early learning in reading, mathematics, and communication.
🌈 Inclusion Is Central
We are committed to ensuring that every child—including those with SEND or experiencing disadvantage—receives personalised support that enables them to make meaningful progress. Inclusion is central to our ethos and is reflected in every aspect of our provision.
🤝 Families Are Partners
We value strong relationships with parents and carers. Through open communication and true partnership working, we ensure every child is supported consistently across home and school.
🌼 Staff Are Supported and Empowered
We prioritise staff well‑being, expertise, and professional development. By maintaining a supportive culture, our team can focus on high‑quality interactions, effective teaching, and the individual needs of every child.
📘 Quality Is Consistently High
Through reflective practice and continuous improvement, we strive to provide an Early Years setting that is strong, well‑led, and rooted in the principles of high‑quality early education. Our aim is to meet or exceed expected standards across all areas, ensuring the very best outcomes for our children.
