Reconciliation Sculptures

Today Mrs Haughey and I both walked in to Year 6 and were truly impressed. I knew straight away without being told what it was they had been asked to re-create – the Reconciliation sculpture to be found in the old Coventry Cathedral. The inscription on which says
“In 1995 fifty years after the end of the Second World War this sculpture has been given as a token of reconciliation, an identical sculpture has been placed on behalf of the people of Coventry in the Peace Garden, Hiroshima, Japan
Both sculptures remind us that in the face of destruction forever human dignity and love will triumph over disaster and bring nations together in respect and peace.”

We all feel that this terms topic on WW2 has truly inspired the pupils to produce some amazing work, well done year 6.
