Year 5 WW1 Assembly

Wednesday, 30 November 2016

Year 5 produced a fantastic performance on their WW1 topic. It included singing, dancing, choral performance poetry and wonderful speaking and acting.

The assembly itself told the story of four boys (vastly underage) who signed up to fight for their country expecting an adventure but instead find themselves facing the terrors of the trenches.
“It really brought it home to you how ordinary boys were affected” said one of our grandparents.

“It was definitely one of the best assemblies I’ve seen” said one of our teachers.

Mrs Corbett worked hard to create a realistic feeling – she even managed to get her hands on some real WW1 stretchers to carry the children.
