A Riot of Colour for Easter Assembly

Thursday, 17 March 2016

The pupils have again this year turned the stage into a riot of colour.  Thanks to everyone who brought a garden or a hat in today.

The seeds are back!

Wednesday, 16 March 2016

Watch a video clip of the seeds being delivered into space.

At 04:26am on Tuesday 2nd March, Commander Scott Kelly of NASA and Russian cosmonauts Mikhail Kornienko and Sergey Volkov of Roscosmos landed safely back on Earth in Kazakhstan. The seeds then travelled with Scott Kelly to NASA in Houston on a charter flight from Moscow, Russia and returned to the UK on Thursday. We are now getting ready to pack them up so they can be sent to you with your Rocket Science experiment pack in April!

We cant wait to get started!

Our school has been chosen!

Wednesday, 16 March 2016

Thank you for your application to take part in Rocket Science. I am delighted to inform you that your application has been successful!

The success of Rocket Science relies on schools and educational organisations across the UK inputting data from the experiment into a national database to contribute to our knowledge or growing food in space. This is a scientific experiment that we have developed with real scientists and is therefore very detailed.
Its a big responsibility but we will read it all very carefully. First important date will be the 12th or 13th April when the seeds will arrive.

So watch this space for more information!

Year 2 Class Assembly

Monday, 14 March 2016

On Friday Year 2 performed their class assembly to a packed audience. Their theme was “It’s a KInd of Magic”, which was based on the book “Leon and the Place Between”, set at the circus. We were wowed by acrobats, jugglers and Abdul Kazam the magician, who chose a member of the audience  to assist in a live magic trick.

A particular highlight was when the clowns  tumbled down into the crowd and soaked everyone with squirting flowers! The children wrote all their own scripts and showcased work from their English lessons.

Everyone agreed that it was a great success and would like to congratulate Year 2 on their fantastic performance.
