We’re Going on a Castle Hunt

Friday, 27 June 2014

Our assembly today followed on from Year 2’s visit to Warwick Castle and term topic about castles.

The children performed loudly and clearly their own variation of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” called obviously…“We’re Going on a Castle Hunt”
Parents were told about the many different parts to a castle and shown (using a variety of ways) their children’s work, all based around the theme of castles. The theme was carried throughout their lessons including Science and English

All the fantastic castles made at home (a big thankyou parents, from Mrs Wall and Mrs Lapsley) were on view – either during assembly or in the classroom, when parents were invited back to see all the fabulous work that had been done over the weeks.
It was well attended and enjoyed by everyone.
Well done year 2 a fantastic job!

College Students Build us a Birdtable

Friday, 27 June 2014

North Warwickshire & Hinckley College students studying the “school support service course” were very kind to donate to our Year 2 Class a fabulous handmade bird table.

Following on from our science week and class topic on birds the children have shown a real interest in recording which birds are visiting us. The birds have been enjoying the feeders that the children made.

This kind donation will help to maintain their enthusiasm- any other ideas or recipes for encouraging birds to the table would be very welcome.

All the pupils and staff would like to say a BIG THANKYOU

We had three after school sporting events going on, on Monday after school. On the playground we had one of our archery taster sessions for a small mixed year group, run by Kits Academy.

On the field we had year 5-6 playing the return match at home against Newdigate, the team were wearing the new school football strip and looked very smart

Finally in the hall we had year 1 and 2 working with a coach from Nuneaton and Bedworth doing Multi skills. Phew! What a busy time.

An Assembly in Three Parts

Friday, 13 June 2014

Year 4 assembly this afternoon was split into three different parts, covering topics taught last term.
The first part took the form of a debate “Should Mowgli stay in the Jungle.”
Next was an Indian dance taught to the children during their “Indian Day.”
Finally, a look at the information that had been researched for science week covering animals and their habitats.
What Miss Niland thought was noticeable was how much more confident all of them were at speaking out in front of an audience.
Well done year 4 another super assembly that made us all feel very proud, I heard lots of nice comments from both pupils and parents as they walked past my door. It was another spectacular turnout from our Year 4 parents, please feel free to leave lots of comments on what you thought too.

There is also a new update for Adobe Flash player taking us to version 14, again its always a good idea to keep this up to date if you want to use Mathletics on your PC.
