The Panton Family

Tuesday, 22 October 2013

“A big thank you goes out to all the pupils, teachers, families and friends of Wheelwright Lane School. As you’re all aware during the last school term, as a family, we had to take Aaron to America for Proton Beam Therapy.

While we were out in America we were very touched to hear that you were very busy fundraising for Aaron with many events going on over the weeks and many kind donations from yourselves and local businesses.

As a family we want to express our appreciation for everyone’s generosity and support. With all the hard work and fundraising, you have helped support us with financial costs incurred. A donation of £700 will also go to Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital to help other children like Aaron.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks. We will never be able to thank you all so much. It has been over-whelming to hear what you all have done for us-it will never be forgotten.

Thank you all for your kind support towards Aaron.”

Aaron back to school

Wednesday, 16 October 2013

We are so pleased to have Aaron back with us and settling down to normality in Year 3. His friends missed him while he was away and are now making up for lost time. He is playing happily on the playground and working hard in his lessons. It is good to see the family back safe and sound.
As you know last Summer Term, staff, parents and pupils were involved in a variety of fundraising events to raise funds to support the family during Aaron’s Proton Radiotherapy Treatment, only available in the U.S.A.
Thanks to everyone’s commitment and hard work we managed to raise a total of £4049.88. Well done!
The funds have been presented to Aaron’s family and we hope that the amount raised will be of help to fund a proportion of the overall costs incurred while Aaron was receiving his treatment.
Out of the fundraising amount, the family have donated £700 towards the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, where Aaron usually receives his medical care and will continue to do so now he is back.
On behalf of everyone, we wish the family all the best for the future and continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers

Thank you to everyone who baked cakes; contributed to the charity and came along to the community coffee morning on Friday. It was lovely to meet parents of children attending the school and grandparents whose children and grandchildren attended the school. A total of £370 was raised for this very worthy charity. A big thank you to Mrs Hitchings who coordinated the whole event.

Harvest Festival

What a wonderful harvest festival we had yesterday, all the children sang and spoke extremely well. I know that all the staff and the many parents that were there really enjoyed it. The staff would like to say how very proud they felt of all the children. A big thank you to all our parents too, for their kind donations and finally our thanks to the Reverend Gandon who always gives his time generously to the school.
