Event - Pirate Science Day

October 2011

In October we joined together with Exhall Grange for our Pirate Science Investigation Day.

The children and staff dressed up as Pirates and were vertically grouped in workshops. Each workshop undertook a different investigation. Every group was able to visit the planetarium and learn about the planets and solar system.

It was a very enjoyable day and the older children were especially good at supporting our younger children.

Dissecting and labelling smelly fish.
Look at this horrible lot!

Making pirate ships.
Testing the vessels.

The inflatable planetarium in the Hall.
These pirates were making periscopes.

Which is the best shaped sail?
Which material is the best for a pirate cape?
