E-Cadets First Meeting

Wednesday, 11 March 2015

Following on from Internet Safety Day a small group of children went to the first meeting of the E-Cadets at Stockingford Primary School. They were there to find out about what the project and being a cadet would involve and to start their basic training. They will be attending a club once a month and taking part in some challenges. The knowledge they gain will be fed back to their peers to help improve the safety of the pupils at our school when they are using online technology.

*****Congratulations*****

Wednesday, 3 December 2014

Congratulations to Mrs Haughey, she now has a little girl, Niamh to add to the family. Mother and baby are fine and we have sent her our best wishes from the school. Congratulations too – to Mrs Aviss who is expecting her first baby in a few months time.

Operation Christmas Child

Monday, 1 December 2014

We have had a terrific response from the children to fill a shoebox. There are around 50 boxes which will now be sent on to the organisers ready to be transported somewhere in the world where the children are less fortunate than ourselves. Thank you for all your very generous contributions, they will be gratefully received.

Safeguarding Children

Thursday, 20 March 2014

The school takes e-safety very seriously and we regularly include this in our curriculum throughout the year. In school we monitor the children’s access to all sites and safeguard them while on site. We are aware that there may not be the same level of monitoring at home and wish to support you in keeping up to date with the latest e-safety guidance from well-informed professionals. I am therefore quite concerned that we have had very few parents reply to say that they are going to attend our e-safety parents awareness evening on Monday 24th March at 6pm. I would strongly urge parents to take the opportunity to work together with us to keep our children safe online. Only this week, we have become aware of one of our younger pupils using a site that allows un-moderated video chat with complete strangers one to one.
Please come.

Fundraising for our two schools in Africa

Wednesday, 12 February 2014

Thanks to your continued support we raised just over £200 last Friday from our “dress up in sports kit” day.  After hearing that the children from our two partner schools in Zambia play football on stony ground, in bare feet and use compacted plastic bags as a football, our children decided that the best way to help, would be to raise money for sports equipment for them. Together with the money already raised at the  last school disco we were able to present a cheque for £400 to the trustees of KIN (Kickstart Initiatives Network).
