Reception and nursery health week

Tuesday, 3 July 2018

Today the Reception and Nursery children had the chance to try out two different types of exercise. In the morning Mrs Haines introduced the children to dance classes.

The afternoon was filled with a Kung Fu and boxing session led by Mr and Mrs Checkley.

Many thanks to these parents for giving up their time to help support our Health Week in the EYFS.

Tomorrow we will be talking all about teeth.

Forest School

Monday, 21 May 2018

Nursery had a lovely time last week outside by a forest fire. Miss Mary a fully trained forest school teacher made sure that all was safe and secure.

The children were able to whittle sticks to push a marshmallow on to, sing some campfire songs and enjoy a sizzling hot suasage.

The weather was perfect too, not too hot!

Nursery’s Egg Hunt

Thursday, 19 April 2018

“The children took part in an Easter Egg Hunt in nursery today. They were all very excited however it was good to see how their relationships are developing and how they are learning to share and support each other.

They worked together to make sure that everyone found an egg. They were then very patient and waited until they were all found before helping to count the eggs and distribute them fairly.”

Nursery Visit the Snow Mouse at Warwick Arts Centre

Wednesday, 20 December 2017

The Nursery children have spent a charming morning at the theatre. We went to see the Snow Mouse. As we arrived we were asked to take our shoes off and then we headed into a snowy wonderland.

The children, staff and parents got comfy on cushions and waited for the mouse and his human friend to entertain us. All of the children were transfixed as they watched the snowy adventure develop. Watching the children laugh and seeing their eyes sparkle was truly magical.
The children have been recounting the tale and sharing their experiences. One child commented on the part he enjoyed most: “the funny bit when it snored asleep”.
The children’s behaviour was exemplary and made us all proud.
Thank you so much to all the parents and volunteers that joined us.

Nursery have a busy time!

Sorting and labelling nursery resources to help the children put things away when they are finished learning and playing. Thought these lovely photos helped to show how much they have to learn.

Nursery Enjoy the Snow

Wednesday, 18 January 2017

The nursery children made the most of the snow fall last week. They ventured onto the school field and found just enough snow to make a snow ball or two. The children commented on the properties of the snow “it’s cold” and “it feels wet”. One child commented that “the sun will make the snow go away because the sun is hot, hot, hot.”

Nursery go to the Belgrade

Tuesday, 13 December 2016

On Monday 12th December the Nursery travelled to the Belgrade Theatre to see ‘Santa’s Polka Dot Pirate’.

We met an elf, Santa, Rudolph and a (not so scary) pirate. The children enjoyed singing and dancing along to the music.

Once the play was finished all of the children got to meet Santa and received a present to bring home. Everyone had a great time.

Our Nursery at Ash End Farm

Friday, 27 May 2016

The day went like this: A quick play in the park,

meet the birds of prey, lunch in the barn.

After lunch feed the goats, hold a chick,

find an egg, feed the lamb.

Another play and a bounce.

Ponies and horses,

coach and sleep.
A big thank you to all of the parents for their help.

The sun has got his hat on!

Tuesday, 17 May 2016

The nursery children have been mark making with bikes and cars in the sun shine. They’ve been trying out their new cameras that we bought with the money raised at the cake sale last term. And generally enjoying the sunshine last week.
